Writing Connection to Reading
Writing is often associated with Literacy Comprehension but writing can improve many aspects of reading in struggling readers. Studies have found connections between writing practicing and increases in reading proficiency. Often times comprehension itself is confusing to teachers and is often viewed as the last step of reading proficiency. However, comprehension should be taught alongside print concepts, phonemic awareness, phonics, and more.
